Mumbai(dt.2nov):-The 2024 edition will feature more than 300 speakers from across the world at the festival. The names included in the second list are: Akhil Katyal, Amiya Srinivasan, Andrew Quintman, Arundhati Subramaniam, Bonnie Garmus, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Damon Galgut, Diana Evans, Gulzar Sahab, Hernan Diaz, Kay Bird, Katy Kitamura, Kelly Dorji, Luke Sison, Justice Madan B. Lokur, Malcolm Turnbull AC, Maria Goretti, Merve Emre, Navdeep Suri, Roger Cohen, Sarnath Banerjee, Shumona Sinha, Vincent Browne, Shanbhag, Yescha Mounk.

The iconic Jaipur Literature Festival announced the second list of speakers for its much-awaited 17th edition. The festival will be organized from 1-5 February at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur. The speakers included in the list show that like every year, this year too world-renowned writers, thinkers, thinkers, realists and scholars will win the hearts of the audience with their thoughts in the festival.

The second list of 25 speakers includes illustrious speakers from diverse fields: Akhil Katyal, poet, translator, scholar and author of Like Blood on the Bitten Tongue: Delhi Poems and How Many Countries Do the Indus Cross; Amiya Srinivasan, academic and author of The Right to Sex; Andrew Quintaman, scholar of intellectual traditions in Tibet and the Himalayas, and author of The Life of Milarepa; India’s famous poet Arundhati Subramaniam honored with Sahitya Akademi Award; Bonnie Garmus, copywriter, creative director, and author of Lessons in Chemistry; Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, author of successful books like The Palace of Illusion, The Forest of Enchantment, The Last Queen and Independence; Booker Prize-winning novelist and playwright Damon Galgut; Orange Award-winning author, journalist and critic Diana Evans; Hardil Aziz poet, lyricist and screenwriter Gulzar Sahab, who has written more than 100 books.

Other speakers on the list include: Hernan Díaz, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Trust and in the Distance; Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer, journalist, and author of American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Kay Bird, author of Robert Oppenheimer; Katie Kitamura, journalist, art critic and author of Intimacy; Bhutanese actor, model and author of The Hidden Rainbow, Kelly Dorji; Luke Sisson, British Museum curator, art historian and director of the FitzWilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge; Justice Madan B. Lokur, former judge of the Supreme Court of India and judge of the Supreme Court of Fiji; Malcolm Turnbull AC, 29th Prime Minister of Australia, former politician and businessman; Maria Goretti, television presenter, actor and author of From My Kitchen to Yours; Merve Emre, academic and author of The Annotated Mrs. Dalloway.

The festival will include former Ambassador of India to UAE, Navdeep Suri; Pulitzer Prize and George Pollock Award-winning journalist Roger Cohen; graphic novelist, artist and filmmaker Sarnath Banerjee; Shumona Sinha, award-winning author of Down With Poor; Vincent Browne, academic and author of The Reaper’s Garden and Tacky’s Revolt; writer, editor and playwright Vivek Shanbhag; German-born American political scientist and author Yscha Mounk.

Every year, the festival brings together the world’s renowned writers, scholars, humanitarians, politicians, business magnates, sportspersons and entertainers on one platform to celebrate freedom of expression. Since its inception in 2007, the festival has hosted nearly 5,000 speakers, and millions of readers from all over the world. Today, Jaipur Literature Festival is such a Kumbh of literature, in which every literature lover wants to take a dip.
